The 18th Annual Celebration for Mental Health dinner and awards benefit will be held on Monday, October 23 in Manchester, NH. Proceeds from the annual event will help to support individuals (teens and adults) and family members who are dealing with behavioral health and/or substance misuse disorder challenges.  The services The Mental Health Center provides to those in need will provide hope, recovery and an improved quality of life.

Author and Screenwriter, Gloria Norris, who spent her childhood years in one of Manchester, NH project neighborhoods, will be the 2017 keynote speaker. Her memoir, Kookooland, recounts her early years and family life which was filled with deception, domestic abuse, mental illness and tragedy.  Gloria will share the stories of her childhood and how she overcame the many obstacles in her life to get to where she is today. Autographed copies of Gloria’s book will be sold following the dinner and presentations.

The Annual Dinner Benefit is The Mental Health Center’s largest fundraising event of the year in which many friends of the Center and community partners stand with the largest outpatient mental health provider in the state, to support community mental health services.  This year,Brady Sullivan Properties is the Presenting Sponsor of the event and Eldridge Investment Advisors is the Diamond Sponsor. The event will be held on Monday, October 23 at Derryfield Country Club.  A full plated dinner will be served before the awards and keynote presentations.
