Medical Director to offer expertise and support to other Mental Health Providers

Medical Director, Dr. Michael McNamara, will soon offer a weekly psychiatric consultation for Primary Care Providers (PCP) to discuss Medicine and Mental Healthcare: utilizing best practices; strengthening understanding of psycho-pharmacology pathways and levels of care.  This psychiatric consultation service is the result of cooperative efforts between The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester(MHCGM), Catholic Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Primary Care as well as Network4Health PCP providers, to improve care of patients with complex diagnoses including mental health conditions.  The program will be designed as an open forum to offer solutions in helping Primary Care Providers to better understand and manage mental health conditions, and to discuss ongoing care for mutual patients, case consultations, etc.

The forums will take place three times a week beginning April 16, 2019.

Dr. McNamara has been serving as Chief Medical Officer for The Center’s extensive system of care since 2016. He joined The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester in early 2014 as Associate Medical Director after having served as both Chief of Psychiatry at North Country Hospital and Medical Director for Northern Vermont Counseling and Psychiatric Services in Newport, Vermont.

As the largest outpatient mental health provider in the state of New Hampshire, MHCGM is very excited to offer this forum in collaboration with other local providers, to better care for our mutual patients and members of the community who are affected by mental illness.
