The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester announces that the late Susan McLane has been named its 2005 Wheelock-Nardi Advocacy Award recipient. “Susan was a tireless and effective advocate for mental health as well as other human service and environmental issues during her 25 years in the NH Legislature,” states The Center’s CEO, Peter Janelle. “Her final cause was facing her own Alzheimer’s disease with grace and dignity.” The award will be presented posthumously to the McLane family at The Center’s 45th Anniversary Celebration, which will be held on October 24 at the Bedford Wayfarer Inn and Conference Center.
The Wheelock-Nardi Advocacy Award is presented each year by The Center to recognize individuals or organizations that exemplify a high standard of commitment and advocacy to those with mental illness. Major sponsors of The Center’s 45th Anniversary Celebration include Stephen Eldridge & Co., Central Paper Products, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester, and USI New England.
