Specialized Programs
The Susan McLane Memory Wellness Center is a multidisciplinary assessment/treatment team serving seniors and their families when there is a concern about memory changes experienced by the senior.
The assessment and early detection of memory changes that are associated with early Alzheimer’s disease, or other dementias, offers the opportunity to implement new interventions that control symptoms and slows the progression of the disease. The services are provided by the Mental Health Center staff, including a geropsychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner and a licensed clinical mental health counselor, along with a consulting neuropsychologist.
Education and support to family members, primary care physicians and other caregivers are an important part of the service offered. Free screenings are offered three times a year at a variety of community sites.
