Groundhog Day Silent Auction & Breakfast - January 28, 2006

Will “Manchester Millie" Predict Six More Weeks Of Winter?

The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester (MHCGM) will hold its fourth annual Groundhog Day Silent Auction And Breakfast on Saturday, January 28, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Executive Court Banquet Facility on Mammoth Road, in Manchester. Throughout the morning, more than 10 unique, individual Gift Baskets will be on display, and an opportunity to purchase a chance to win one of these unique items will be a highlight of this year’s community event. Silent auction bidding will continue to 10:15 a.m. when the top bidders will be announced and a live auction of “Big Ticket” items will be held.

In addition to a delicious breakfast and fabulous bid items donated by area businesses and craftsmen, this years event will again feature local furry celebrity, our very own Groundhog – “Manchester Millie” (the charming ex-girlfriend of the famous Puxatawney Phil) – who will venture outside accompanied by youngsters, to look for her shadow!

The event is a project of the MHCGM Special Projects Team, a group of volunteers and staff members who contribute their time and enthusiasm to produce events that support The Center’s mission. The event is sponsored each year by Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and proceeds will benefit the programs and services provided by The Center. Last year’s auction raised over $22,000 and was attended by more than 250 people!

Come and shop for your Valentine!! Over the past few years, auction items have included Mountain Bikes valued at more than $200 each, Red Sox and Patriots memorabilia and sports collectibles, fitness club memberships worth $300+ , tickets to Cher’s farewell Concert Tour =“Priceless!!!”, Rountrip Airfare to anywhere in the Continental U.S from Southwest Airlines, beautiful, original Artwork, Vacation and Resort Getaway packages, gift certificates for lunch, dinner, spa/beauty treatments and much more!
